Early Learning leads to other achievements
According to Greg Duncan, PhD, of Northwestern University’s Researcher and Professor of Education and Social Policy, early math learning among children is one of the important factors in predicting academic achievement later on.
Therefore, Children who are taught math early and learn the basics at a young age are more likely capable of a lifetime achievement in all aspects of their academic performance.
Teaching Your Child To Count
First and foremost you can start to teach your child to recognize numeral. Children may respond better to memorizing numbers you repeat or may pick up numbers by seeing you count objects from one to ten.
Use Everyday Object
Once your children master the number count, you can use physical objects in daily life to teach add and subtract. This also allows you to teach your child that objects don't have to be identical to be important in math. The child is connecting counting with various objects, instead of running through a routine numbers game of 1, 2, 3.
Make Math a Daily Activity
To make them a greater math learner, you can also use math in your day-to-day routine. You can ask your children to help you solve your math lessons when you incorporate them into your daily life. But of course, do set the goal and difficulty level which they can achieve.
Play Math Game
Lastly, there are also plenty of math games available to aid you in teaching math. These games not only are good resources for teaching but also will make the learning process fun and enjoyable.
Make sure the whole teaching process should be fun so that they can gain enthusiasm about learning math.
