Smiley Face French Fries
Main Ingredients
Potatoes are types of starchy root vegetables called tubers. They are great sources of fiber and rich in Vitamin C, B6, potassium, and manganese. Potatoes contribute to a healthy gut by providing fiber and acting as a prebiotic with resistant starch. Additionally, their rich vitamin C content supports immune system function, making them a valuable addition to promote overall well-being.
Ingredients for 1 portion:
- 2 potatoes
- 3 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ cup flour
- 3 tablespoon breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 egg
- Vegetable oil
Preparation:
- Peel the potatoes and cut into tubes.
- Put the potatoes in a pot filled with ¾ of water and boiled for 15 mins.
- Once the potatoes are soft, mash it with cornstarch, flour, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
- Last to add egg and mix together. (if the dough very moist, you can add more flour or breadcrumbs to dry it out)
- Put a sheet of parchment or plastic wrap on the counter and liberally sprinkle it with flour.
- Then put the dough on top and cover with another sheet of parchment or plastic wrap.
- Roll the dough to about ¼ inch thick and peel off the parchment or plastic wrap on top carefully.
- Cut out the circles of dough. Use straw to make the eyes and a spoon to make the mouth.
- Fry the circles in a pan filled with 2 inches of oil until crispy. Flip them once in the middle.
- Place on paper towel to drain and ready to serve with tomato sauce.
